2018 is officially here and we are wondering what the heck happened to 2017?!?!
It seems like last year flew by as there were lots of changes going on with our lives: new jobs, relocating to a new city, becoming homeowners again (and all headaches that accompany it), and new business ventures. And in the midst of all that was happening we lost track of something we had always kept a top priority – our health.
Our pillars for living a healthy and happy life are paying attention to our food, our fitness, and being mindful and present. While we kept up well with our eating (mostly), we both know our fitness and mental health took a back seat over the last year. And we are determined to get things back on track in the coming year. There will be plenty of yoga, stretching, and lifting heavy things going down in 2018!
Looking ahead – lots of people make new years resolutions, but I’m not really one to do that sort of thing. I’ll set out goals (large and small), because I feel you can lay out a process to achieve them, while resolutions are usually ‘nice to keep up’, but not a true focus. So, this year is pretty simple for us after a whirlwind 2017, but that does not always mean easy.
Goal #1 – Follow our three pillars daily.
Goal #2 – See goal #1.
That’s it. Period.
We are going to keep focusing blog content on fermentation, because we love it and our happy guts. 🙂 However, we are going to dive into more on our physical health and also mental health. These are areas that go hand in hand with healthy eating and our fermentation addiction, so it seems appropriate to include this on the blog too.
