If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you may have noticed that I escaped left Wisconsin and am vacationing in Hawaii this week. I’m here with Matt’s family to celebrate his parent’s 40th wedding anniversary.
We are splitting our time between Oahu and the Big Island and will be here for a little over a week.
Matt and I arrived just in time for dinner on Thursday and I got my hands on my first ever poke bowl. It was ahi tuna and really REALLY good. I am hoping to eat it one more time when we return to Honolulu at the end of the trip. Yum!
The next day, I got my hands on pineapple ice cream.
Now, I just need to find an açai bowl and my Hawaii food bucket list will be complete.
We spent our first full day driving around Oahu before flying over to the Big Island for a week.
Our first day on the Big Island was spent out on the ocean! We did a snorkeling cruise (with some paddle boarding) and it was fun to see the island from the water. It sure is beautiful.
I’ve also managed to find plenty of fermented things including this jun and sauerkraut. Though after arriving home, I realized the sauerkraut is actually made in California and not Hawaii. Delicious none the less!
We capped off Monday with a luau. It was a beautiful setting and we were treated to an amazing sunset as well!
Have a great week everyone! I will be back later this week with an update on my favorite fitness app!
