The high temperature in Madison hit 68 degrees yesterday! Shattering the old record of 60 degrees. Plus, it was the sixth straight day of temperatures in the 60s. The weather woman said that since they’ve been keeping records, there has only been 13 days in 60s in February and six of those were in the last week! Our average high is about 30 degrees for comparison. If you read my post yesterday, you know I’m fascinated by the weather so I’m chalking it up to Mother Nature wishing me a happy birthday in a big way!
My birthday celebration actually kicked off on Tuesday afternoon when Matt came home from work early and demanded that we find a patio for a couple happy hour drinks. The place happened to have my favorite Milk Stout from Left Hand Brewing on nitro, it was delicious.
On Wednesday morning, I woke up to some thoughtful birthday messages from friends on the other side of the world + my mother-in-law {who is a very early riser}. Matt and I got an early Aaptiv workout in together in our apartment gym and enjoyed a relaxed breakfast before he headed out for the day.
I was able to meet my friend Sarah and her dog for a walk around our neighborhood. We had planned to hike around Devil’s Lake but it sounded like the trails weren’t in great shape and we didn’t have the right gear for the icy conditions. It was great to see her one last time before she sets off on her own around-the-world trip. I’m excited to live vicariously through her for the next year!
I enjoyed a margarita in celebration of National Margarita Day and was even able to meet one of my oldest friends for quick happy hour. I arrived back at our apartment to a home cooked meal from Matt {zoodles with Field Roast Italian Sausages per my request}.
A day for the record books for sure, thanks to everyone who made it special!
