The world of essential oils is pretty new to me. I use a diffuser daily and have experimented with making my own body moisturizer, but I am really interested in learning more. So, when Simply Earth offered to send me their monthly Essential Oil Recipe Subscription Box, I jumped at the opportunity to check it out.
The Essential Oil Recipe Box from Simply Earth is a monthly subscription box. Each month has a different theme with 6-7 essential oil recipes included for DIY projects, plus everything you need to make each recipe. That’s what makes this box so unique: you receive EVERYTHING you need to make the recipes. I’ve spent hours googling how to make natural products, but I never end up making any because I usually don’t have the right container to store it in or don’t have one specific ingredient (that I will probably never have another use for). This box solves both of those problems!
The theme for March 2017 is soap making. My box came with 5 full size essential oils, a recipe book, extra bottles, soap molds, a soap base and labels.
I figured I’d start with the essential oil diffuser recipes since I am familiar with the process. I made two different blends and they went right into the bottles that came with the box. Matt is actually diffusing the Citrus Tranquil blend in his office as I write this post!
Next up was the soap making. The box came with four different recipes for soaps, so I chose two of them and will save the other two for next weekend.
Full disclosure, I have never made homemade soap before. I was really worried I would have a disaster on my hands, but it turns out making soap is actually super easy! It took less than five minutes to mix together and pour into the molds.
A few hours later, I ended up with two actual bars of soap! I think they turned out beautiful!
Pretty cool, huh? And they smell awesome! Plus, now that I am comfortable with the process and have the molds I can experiment with other oil combinations.
The Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box is a great way to open your eyes to the world of essential oils and everything you can do with them. You learn a new way of using essential oils each month and build confidence to start experimenting on your own. Plus, the projects are family friendly and just plain fun. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my story and how much fun I had with this box over the weekend.
In addition, Simply Earth donates 13% of their profits to organizations whose mission is to end human trafficking. You’ll receive an email each month with information about the organization they are currently partnering with for these efforts.
The monthly Essential Oil Recipe Box from Simply Earth costs just $39. Five full size oils from other companies can cost well over $200, so the subscription box is really a great deal!
And Simply Earth has an extra special deal for new subscribers! Subscribe to their monthly Essential Oil Recipe Box and receive a $40 gift card.
Simply add the recipe box to your cart, enter your email address and use discount code: THEWILDGUTFREE to receive a $40 gift card with your first Essential Oil Recipe Box. The $20 gift card will be emailed to you after you place your order. Plus, you’ll receive a FREE BIG BONUS BOX containing a carrier oil, a hard oil (like shea butter), beeswax, and containers.
I am already looking forward to April’s box as the theme is natural cleaning products!

Love this review!! 🙂
Great review. Thanks! What did you use for the soap base?
Hi Leah! The box actually came with a soap base to use in the recipes. It was enough to make four small bars of soap. 🙂
