We’re enjoying one of the warmer falls on record here in Wisconsin, so it’s hard to believe the calendar says November and the holiday season is truly right around the corner. It feels like the season starts earlier and earlier each year. According to any of the national retailers the holiday season starts the day after Halloween, as we are well into Black Friday Sale season. I’ll admit, I do love the glow of a Christmas tree and enjoy having a reason to burn candles with names like Winter Frost and Northwoods Pine so I am happy to get on board with holiday cheer by mid-November. However, I don’t enjoy the huge focus on buying, buying, buying. The things that are on sale at all the large retail chains are realistically things you can buy for yourself, throughout the year, when you actually need them.
When I think of gift giving, I think of the joy it brings to find something truly perfect for the person I am gifting to. Something they will want and love, but most likely wouldn’t buy themselves. For me, I love when I am gifted something thoughtful that came from a small business. With that, I want to share some awesome small business finds from Etsy.com to inspire you to shop small this holiday season.
